“Unless a miracle happens, all of you will die. Are you ready to die?”
My team members replied with stern faces.
“No.”
“No.”
“No.”
…No one?!

its… Good?
the premise is great; ex-ranker on a new account and uses his money to make a pay2win overpowered follower…. But he's so powerful, he's not 100% controllable at MCs weak level. Solid, fun set-up 👍
unfortunately the MC is a bit of a wet rag who is almost never proactive and is dragged around by the side characters 95% of the time. He's generally listless and is led by the uncontrollable antics of his subordinates rather than being a charming & scheming weakling who uses his ranker knowledge to make power moves..
the main flaw is, he's not well portrayed as an ex #1 ranker, feeling more like a noob who's figuring things out as he goes
however, occasionally he'll do something cool and those bits tend to be the highlight of the arc… Unfortunately they're far and few and MC generally comes across as a useless… But not always in a charming way, sometimes he's actually useless lol.
side characters are usually fun
anyway about 50 chapters in the story takes a random left turn and and goes straight to wacky town. Essentially scrapping everything that happened so far for a completely new plot about the MCs past. It's such an extreme change in direction it's hard to grasp wtf is going on.
that said, as a stand alone story, rather than 50 chapters in, it would have been a good read.
All in all 7.3/10 slightly above average. Could have been GOATed, around 8.5 or 9… but it trips over it's own writing A LOT!
Chemon
Fucking hell 72 chapters and we FINALLY have some solid motivation for the MC!
this should have been established in the first 10 or 20 chapters. Not 70
Chemon
Honestly I quite like the new girl. Her design is so different from the norm, I'm sure she'll be quite funny
Chemon
It does… It's just too fuckin wacky and completely abandoned the writing direction the first 50 chapters set up.
Chemon
Considering lin has aged about 10 years since she joined… I'm assuming all the people in the series are related to the orphanage.
either workers or residents… Like orphans that have grown up. Probably same for this mask woman too since she recognised him as his original character
Chemon
Bitch been bleeding out for weeks, how isn't she dead yet
Chemon
What does that last one mean?
is that a metaphor?
im assuming it means something like don't make your wife do any hard laborious work or something
Or on the flip side, make sure she lives an easy life
Chemon
The weird thing is, this arc is the most interesting one so far.
but it feels so random and disconnected from the previous 50 chapters I'm just sat here thinking wtf is going on, why did the author just clearly scrap his previous writing direction and go down this path 😂
its an improvement sure, but it definitely feels for ed and unnatural
Chemon
This would have been a lot better if it wasn't a virtual world. The stakes are a bit inconsequential as a result of everything not being real.
like when he gets charmed, it's not even 'him', it's just his avatar… Which makes that pretty lady rather lame.
to have the effect forcefully affect his real body is a bit of a stretch to try to increase the stakes. It's a bit nonsensical and unrealistic
Chemon
This is wacky AF
and not in a good way
Chemon
Didn't expect that.
Not that she was a pretty girl, that was a high chance.
the fact they already swapped out a unique character for a generic pretty girl in barely a few chapters.
like damn, at least build some suspense around them first
Chemon
Bahaha, MCs inner heart was screaming at Ceasar to force him to stop
and ceasar's imagination was saying the MCs command s screaming at Cesar to force THEIR hearts stop lol
pretty clever, pretty funny
Chemon
This nigga literally the worst assassin ever.
he ignored the contract, failed his first kill (Lina), then hit the wrong target because he was emotional (MC), failed to kill him too, attacked the client when the client called him out with 100% accuracy. and finally he failed his last kill really badly and willingly exposed his identity as an assassin publicly.
why would anyone hire this guy ever again😂😂😂
Chemon
MC has been a loser since the start… And that's fine.
but to actually be incompetent enough for his subordinates to be attacked under his watch and being helpless is really uncool.
Chemon
Lol seeing a 9ft monster get teased as if he was a toddler made me laugh
Chemon
Chase two Hares and you catch none
Chemon
The reason why it's been "boring" is because this entire time the MC is just being reactive to the wacky shenanigans going on around him.
this is the first time he's proactively made a power move.
this will stay interesting as long as the MC keeps doing things rather than just reacting to them
Chemon
Stupid woman😂
cant blame her though
