thats completely fair, one thing i hated about the novel is thatthe father never really gets the chance to actually redeem himself, after he fought the saber sect leader he was basically being controlled by the thing that was pretending to be his dead brother and now he finally woke up and he barely remembers anything, mc will come see him talk to him and just kinda let go of any resentment, thats B.S, cant just forget everything the father did, bro is an absolute piece of shit, he needed something that would let him redeem himself because he might have been a piece of shit but he isnt exactly a bad person. in the novel he is mentioned a few more times but they kinda just forget about him and he sorta just exists.

i agree but not in this instance, u misunderstood,its not that he doesnt get redeemed but he DOES get forgiven for literally nothing, he watched his wife get poisoned and die, he watched his son pretty much live as an orphan while the other wives are still attempting to ruin his life and then he himself tried to kill the mc the best he could. mc simply comes in talks to his father and simply forgets about everything he's done because the masked guardian tells him that his father only loved mc's mother and thats why she was the only person outside of the main 6 clans he married, he had to marry the other wives cause he had no other choice and he kept the mc away so that no one would hurt the child mc he didnt even go the funeral because he knew that they would try to kill the mc if he went, he was in fact already planning on destroying the 6 clans in revenge but then he himself lost his mind, so mc just lets it go and that i didn't like that at all.
